AIFFLA
In 2010 the International Co-operative
for the Development of Latin-American Railways AIFFLA is already four years
old.
Up to now AIFFLA is still heavily dependent
from its mother organisation FLB. This should change now. Buy AIFFLA bonds
and help to make AIFFLA independent and powerful. AIFFLA is already working.
Buy bonds to make AIFFLA strong and
independent. For yourself or as a gift to friends and relatives who like
Latin America and railways.
AIFFLA has already helped in Uruguay
with the purchase of a rail bus for the co-operative Urutren. Urutrain
is a co-operative which has been founded in the spirit of AIFFLA.
In addition AIFFLA has accepted to
contribute to the reconstruction of a Locobreque of the old São
Paulo - Santos incline, as soon as a corresponding financing and work plan
has been established

How to reach Restaurant Sternen:
From Winterthur main station take bus
No.3 towards Rosenberg, get off at the bus stop Bachtelstrasse, go across
the street crossing and then go down along Bachtelstrasse towards Veltheim
town centre, turn left into Löwenstrasse, and the Sternen Restaurant
is just across the street from a school building.

Meeting on 13th November 2010
This meeting is at the Restaurant Sternen,
Winterthur. We will see pictures from La Trochita (Old Patagonia Express)
and the Central Transandean Railway, by our member Ulrich Meier. After
the meeting possibility for dinner
FLB AGM
on Saturday, 05th February 2010
The Annual General Meeting will be
held on February 5, 2011 at the Restaurant Friedtal at Winterthur. Invitation
and Program will follow by mid-January. Columbian Railways will be the
theme following the AGM. Please registrate by il 31st January 2011.

CHILE
Back to normality

- Talca - Chillán:
Normal traffic between Santiago and Talca,
South Talca passenger traffic still not possible.
BUSCARRIL, Talca - Constitución
Normal traffic Talca - Gonzáles
Bastias. Reconstruction to Constitución very difficult but under
way, reopening projected for end-2010, early-2011.
TREN DEL VINO, San Fernando - Santa
Cruz
This line remains closed to all traffic.
ECUADOR, Ferrocarriles
del Ecuador (ex EFE)
Closure for the Devil’s Nose line Alausí
- Sibambe due to reconstruction may take more time than anticipated. News
from Ecuador indicate that the line may not be reopened before the end
of February 2011.
HONDURAS
State railways FNH has introduced a local train service
between the main station and the main Bus terminal in San Pedro Sula; trains
are running from early morning to noon.
PERU
Tren Macho Huancayo - Huancavelica is
still not operating despite reconstruction of flood damaged sections. The
reason is unknown.
After 4 month of interruption due to damages
on the only railcar traffic resumed between Tacna and Arica. Further interruptions
may always by possible for the same reason. Radical financial reductions
by Tacna province will not allow rehabilitation of this railway..
