Co-operative
AIFFLA
In 2011 the International Co-operative
for the Development of Latin-American Railways AIFFLA is already five years
old.
Up to now AIFFLA is still heavily dependent
from its mother organisation FLB. This should change now. Buy AIFFLA bonds
and help to make AIFFLA independent and powerful. AIFFLA is already working.
Buy bonds to make AIFFLA strong and
independent. For yourself or as a gift to friends and relatives who like
Latin America and railways.
AIFFLA has already helped in Uruguay
with the purchase of a rail bus for the co-operative Urutren. Urutrain
is a co-operative which has been founded in the spirit of AIFFLA.
In addition AIFFLA has accepted to contribute
to the reconstruction of a Locobreque of the old São Paulo - Santos
incline, as soon as a corresponding financing and work plan has been established
These are only two activities; more
will follow soon.
Inform yourself on the home page www.aiffla.com
There are bonds of CHF50.00 and CHF100.00
which can be acquired in unlimited quantities. The co-operative is established
according to Swiss law. Co-operative bond holders are only liable to the
sum of bonds acquired and not any further.
Orders may be placed at:
FAHRPLANCENTER, S. Rachdi, Bahnhof,
CH-6422 Steinen SZ, fahrplancenter@fahrplancenter.com
, your order will be forwarded. Interested customers in EU countries may
pay to a German account, excluding high international money transfer rates.
Thank you for supporting AIFFLA.

LATIN AMERICA NEWS
ARGENTINA
The waters of the Yaciretá dam
are rising further so that Garupá station has now been reached;
this means that passenger trains are ending at Apóstoles station,
72 km South of Posadas.
Ferrobaires has still big problems with
the availability of rolling stock; of this reason the Buenos Aires - Junín
- Alberdí train is still not running. After a different distribution
of the Pullman class coaches both daily trains to Mar del Plata are offering
now two classes.
March 22, UEFER opened the second suburban
line out from Paraná, this time to Colonia Avellaneda.
Santa Fe city commenced with first works
for an urban rail line running from Guadalupe to the Port. Tecnotren SA
is building 2 two coach light railcars for this operation.
An old 36 seat rail bus is currently under
reconstruction at 25 de Mayo (Buenos Aires province); it will be used over
the Ferrobaires line Ernestina - 25 de Mayo - Del Valle (136 km all within
25 de Mayo municipality) for a local service.
BRASIL
End April new light railcars built by Bom Sinal
will commence to run out of Maceió.
CHILE: TERRASUR
On April 4 TerraSur is reintroducing passenger
services with two daily train pairs between Talca and Chillán.
COLOMBIA
Turistren (operator of the Bogotá - Zipaquirá
weekend train) runs now also a train pair Monday-Friday for students from
Bogotá to Cajicá. Tuesday to Friday trains can also be chartered
for groups of pupils and students from Bogotá to Zipaquirá.
COSTA RICA
On April 5, the new suburban service between San
José and Belén will begin.
CUBA
Over 17 km of railways have been refurbished
within Guantánamo province. At the Guantánamo workshops some
railcars are currently under reconstruction, so all lines in this province
will be back with passenger operation later this year.
URUGUAY
A governmental draft speaks about dissolution of state
railway AFE, puts the infrastructure under the control of the Transport
Ministry and creates an economy oriented company called FerroSur for operations.
